My most memorable road trip was a vacation with my girlfriend at the time, in Italy. Driving a Ford Fiesta in the early 90’s between Milan, Rome, Florence, Portofino and other cities without a single plan or hotel reservation was the most enjoyable experience in my adult life. The spontaneity and unexpected surprises along the way were thoroughly memorable and enjoyable.

Honesty and truthfulness because these two attributes create the glue of friendship; trust.

Freedom means having options, time, and the resources to pursue what you want.

After 9 years of working at one institution, I retired. I was apprehensive doing it, but I am glad I did it because owning your time is priceless. No regrets.

Teach. Because knowledge is empowering.

The most influential teacher was an organic chemistry professor who, after giving us several ways to understand a structure in steriochemistry, used to say:
